Hey loves! So, I want to share you my personal story/experience this past NYFW SS18! I’ve done a couple of NYFW backstage from the past but this one was different and definitely an awesome experience! I’m not as active in blogging like I used to but it feels good to look back and reminisce. Blogging has seriously given me opportunities that I’ve once just dreamed of. Calling all my blogger babes, can I get an AMEN? 💕🙌🏻
Some of you may have already known but if not, I have a pretty fun full-time job and that is working for a beauty brand called Voesh New York. Let me tell you, it has been a whirlwind since I started! What do I do? I talk about how much I love our products because I really do! If you haven’t already, check it out because Voesh products are Uh-mazing!
Voesh went backstage for Prabal Gurung NYFW SS18 and prepped the nails with lead nail artist Mei Kawajiri. Described as femininity with a bite, Gurung’s collection was largely inspired by the designer’s dedication to promoting change around the world. Also a noted activist, Prabal opened the show with the quote, “Grant me strength to change the things I cannot accept,” a sentiment that was accompanied visually by the presence of some of today’s most empowering models including sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham and Taylor Hill.
Backstage, lead manicurist Mei Kawajiri, a Japanese talent that has become widely known for her 3D nail sculpture and hand-painted detail, treated each model to a fully enriched, completely waterless instant manicure courtesy of Voesh New York and their cutting-edge Collagen Glove and Sock system. Vegan, Paraben-free, Gluten-free and cruelty-free, the gloves and socks mimic the results of complete professional manicures without the need for soaking water, cuticle softener, cuticle oil, massage lotion or paraffin wax. As they were pampered pre-show, Gigi, Ashley and the other models became instant fans of the travel-friendly products thanks to their compact package, simple use and of course their skin-softening, dewy results. Through the unique waterless manicures, Mei was able to create a naturally glowing look to accompany Red Carpet Manicure’s clean color and match Prabal’s boldly beautiful collection.
As for the makeup look, it was done by the amazing, MAC Cosmetics. Dewy skin, brushed up brows with glossy lids and lips. Models stormed the runway with their hair slicked back to perfection by Wella. And of course, nail prep by Voesh New York and color by Red Carpet Manicure. I’d say, the nails, makeup and hair look really complimented each other.
Working with Prabal Gurung backstage for NYFW was super busy but definitely rewarding! I couldn’t be more proud of Voesh for being a part of this season. To summarize my experience, it was da bomb! This season went by way too fast but I’m glad I was able to take photos to make this memory last longer. 🤭 I wonder where Voesh is gonna be next season.. exciting thoughts!
Did you participate in any NYFW shows? Backstage coverage? Share and let me know your experience in the comments. I’d love to hear your stories!
Love, Roxie 😘
