Rite Aid & Revlon’s Your Story, Your Shade

April 27, 2014

Hello darlings! I have an awesome news, swatches, review and a giveaway for you today. Do that sound a lot for one blog post? I promise, I’ll try to keep it short. I am just so excited to share you beauties about the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women which is going to be in New York on May 3rd and in Los Angeles on May 10th. As a part of Rite Aid’support of EIF’s mission to raise funds to fight against women’s cancers, Rite Aid worked with Revlon to develop the Rite Aid & Revlon’s Your Story – Your Shade Contest where shoppers were encouraged to honor someone affected by women’s cancer by entering a story and naming a shade on Rite Aid’s facebook page. Two winners were selected and their winning shades are now being sold exclusively at Rite Aid through the end of May.

Their grand prize winner, Jill will be joining Rite Aid and Revlon teams on stage at the New York walk opening ceremonies. She named her shade “Diamond Dee”. Here is her inspiring story..

In 2003, my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and I was 29 at the time. By the time they discovered it, the cancer had spread. I was wit her every moment; she had overcome so much in her life! In the end she was full of love, always giving to those in need! Even today, I still use her saying, “If I have two and you have none, then you’ll have one and I’ll have one!” My mom’s nickname when I was a little girl was Diamond Dee! I miss her so and every day I strive to be even half the mother she was! She will always be my Diamond Dee

Diamond Dee is a beautiful soft pink with a pearl finish. Just like other Revlon nail polishes, the formula is smooth and pretty easy to work with. This nail polish is on the sheer side so you’ll need at least 3 coats to get the full opacity. This shade is girly yet classy! A must have in your collection.

Pretty In Strength hot pink for hot summer! This shade is perfect for the upcoming season, it is so bright and fun. The formula of this nail polish is pretty amazing! One coat and you’re good to go. But I mean if you wanna keep your manicure for a longer period of time, go for two coats. You ladies know how much I love my pink nail polishes, this shade is another must have!

Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat and Top Coat are both amazing products! The base protects your nails from staining when using dark shades like blue and the top coat gives you that shiny finish, both dry really quickly. You can purchase these at riteaid.com and in any Rite Aid stores.

Rite Aid and Revlon were very generous to send one set for me and one for you! So you’re gonna get all four products shown above, Diamond Dee, Pretty in Strength, Quick Dry Base and Top Coats for the perfect manicure. All you have to do is leave a comment down below sharing your story. It can be about your hero or honoring someone you know that has been affected by cancer.

This giveaway is open to everybody, US and International readers are all welcome to join. I will be reading all your stories and will pick a winner on Mother’s Day, the 11th of May.

My husband’s mom had been battling cancer … when she found out she had colon cancer she was deeply devastated. The best we could all do for her is support her, encourage her, empower her and celebrate her as a woman, a mother and a beautiful soul. During that time I wasn’t married to her son just yet but each single day I spend with her is like as if I am her own too. We shared laughs and lots of stories. To date she is still battling cancer and with so much hope and trust in God we know she will beat it sooner than we know it.
