Wantable August Makeup Box (Unboxing)

August 3, 2013

Hello lovelies! I have a new found love for – a subscription service that has two different options: Beauty and Fashion Jewelry. Each box is packed with full-size products hand-picked from unique, specialty, and premium brands to perfectly fit your style. Subscribe for $36 a month or buy a single box for $40. Subscriptions are shipped automatically each month and can be skipped or canceled anytime. They ship to United States (free shipping), Canada (additional $5) and Australia (additional $9) If ever you don’t fall in love with the box (which I highly doubt) no need to worry! You can send back your box for a full refund, no questions asked.

A bit pricey compared to other subscription services out there but Wantable’s monthly box contains 4 to 6 full-size premium beauty products worth between $80-$100. No sample sizes included! Also upon signing up, you’re gonna go through an extensive questionnaire about cosmetic/jewelry preferences. Your box is customized and personalized according to your answers. That is to make sure that you will love all the products you get and not get the things you don’t like. I definitely am in love! The value of this box is incredible.

The August Makeup Box featuring Matthew Ambrosio! Their featured expert, Matthew Ambrosio is all about bold eyeliner this month! He suggests applying one liner shade on the top and the second shade on the bottom for a chic two-tone look. Keep it subtle with low key colors, or go for the bold with vivid tones.

One of Matthew’s tips for perfect makeup application is to use brushes. According to Matthew, there are several benefits of brushes as opposed to using your hands to apply cosmetics. First, brushes give a smoother and mover even application. Brushes are also more hygienic and gentler for the skin and waste less product than sponge applicators and your hands. Get started with few brushes and don’t forget to keep them clean!

Michael Marcus Nail Polish “Can Can Girl” ($15)

Housed in a sleek, geometrically shaped glass bottle, Michael Marcus Cosmetics nail polishes are free of Toulene, Formaldehyde and DBP. They are also chip resistant and offer long lasting staying power.

FACE Stockholm Cake Eyeliner Eggplant ($18)

Classic cake eyeliner transforms your eyes in seconds! This versatile product can take you from a delicately defined lash line to intense smolder and color with just a few strokes.

Besame Cosmetics Sweetheart Balm Tangerine ($18)

A luminous lip moisturizing balm with a hint of color that gives you an elegant, long lasting finish. I carefully crafted a healthy formula that deeply moisturizes and conditions, while fortifying with antioxidants vitamins C and E. It is highly emollient and protective as it drenches the lips with exceptional comfort and hydration in sheer, shiny pops of color.

Rainbow Honey Nail Lacquer “The Kraken” ($10)

The Kraken is a marine jelly with a blue and green glow filled with glitters, shimmers, and the sea monster’s own holographic Crashing Boom Bang! Designed and made in United States, always free of Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phthalate and with ingredients that have never been tested on animals.

Japonesque Flat Eyeliner Brush ($11)

Conveniently sized for portability, the JAPONESQUE Travel Eyeliner Brush allows for maximum control and easy application on-the-go. The firm bristles create sharp and defined lines at the lash. Synthetic bristles easily wash clean while maintaining their shape.

Besame Cosmetics 1930’s Mascara ($18)

Besame reintroduces a classic mascara formulation from the ’30s, with only 7 all-natural ingredients including conditioning oils and food grade colorants. This oxygenated, hand-mixed formula has a creamy consistency which coats every lash with breathable pigment. The result is a gentle, water-resistant formula that gives length and definition with hollow brush applicator for clump-free results.

Echo Vie All Natural Lip Balm (Freebie)

This balm is rich, moisturizing and all-natural. The sheer lip balm is plant based and made with high quality essential oils to naturally help soothe dry and chapped lips to keep them emollient. Using ingredients such as Avocado Oil, Beeswax, Castor seed oil, Shea butter, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and lightly scented with Peppermint Oil, Echo Vie lip balm is a fresh, essential daily lip moisturizer. Contains no parabens, petrochemicals or synthetic coloring.

I have to tell you lovelies, I am definitely impressed with Wantable. I actually think the Fashion Jewelry box is the coolest thing I’ve heard. We have no such thing in Malaysia, but a total invasion of beauty boxes.

I do feel the price is a bit too steep though. Of course I love seeing value, but sometimes I just can’t afford it (despite what the box is truly worth) because there’s so many other beauty products of our own choosing to splurge on every month! LOL.

looks really nice. I don’t mind spending extra as long as the box is worth it, in this case, it’s really fabulous. I wish they can send in the Philippines too.

I sometimes get the temptation of paying for a sample box. After thinking twice, I would tell myself not to buy anymore cos I won’t be able to use those odds products they put. Sayang lang! :/

Boxes are really trending lately. They somehow compete who puts the best product in a minimal amount. It’s also another great avenue for brands who wants to showcase their products.

    I want the 1930’s mascara, curious 😀

Yet another beauty subcription box … they’re super “IN” nowadays. I suppose everyone likes getting a box surprise. Who knows, maybe someday we can launch our own line too. 😉 Not a very far fetch idea if we put our heart into it.

Love Beautyholics, a beauty blog by Angela.

The kraken looks like such a gorgeous polish and honestly for the US price I would probably have to try this box as it looks fantastic but with the extra shipping and everything I would probably rather pick things myself. Great post though thanks for sharing 🙂

Gurl this is so cool! I want to try subscribing to makeup boxes but boxes here in the PH looks like a joke. Puro samples. Pati pabango, sinample. Kaloka! Hahaha. And I’m afraid that boxes can be inconsistent. Example, May boxes are good then June boxes will be a trash. LOL. Maybe one of these days, I’ll try.

Can’t wait to read your reviews, guuurll..
